Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women, exceeded only by lung cancer. Statistics show that 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer sometime in her life. The stage at which breast cancer is detected greatly influences a woman's survival. If detected early, the 5-year survival rate is 97%.
In November of 2007, PMC began its mammography program. Due to the overwhelming success of the program an entire facility was dedicated to breast health services. In March of 2009, we opened our state-of-the-art, 11,000 square foot comprehensive Breast Care Center.
In a spa-like environment, the Breast Care Center offers screening and diagnostic
digital mammography, breast ultrasound, bone densitometry, stereotactic biopsy as well as a full scope of surgical intervention procedures performed by Board certified breast and plastic surgeons.
